Annual Flu Jabathon to be held in Penicuik Medical Practice on Wednesday, 31st October 2018

If you are registered as a patient with Penicuik Medical Practice (37 Imrie Place), and you are aged 65 years or over before 31.03.19, or havea chronic condition that makes you eligible, or if you are a carer for anyone in the above "risk group", or if you are pregnant, you are invited to attend our mass vaccination day.  If you are not in the "at risk" groups, please use a private provider.

Surnames beginning with:

A-F to attend between 9.00am and 10.30am

G-M to attend between 10.30am and 12pm (Noon)

N-R to attend between 1pm and 2.30pm

S-Z to attend between 2.30pm and 4.30pm

PLEASE TRY TO COME AT YOUR ALLOCATED TIME AS THIS WILL HELP REDUCE YOUR WAITING TIME

OFFER OF SHINGLES VACCINATION

The vaccination is being offered to specific age groups.   Patients born between 02/09/41 and 01/09/42 or between 02/09/47 and 01/09/48), we would like to invite you to have a shingles vaccination.

Please telephone Penicuik Medical Practice on 01968 672612 and arrange an appointment with the practice nurse.  At your appointment, it is important that you tell the health professional giving the shingles vaccine if you have had a severe reaction to a previous vaccine, if you have any allergies, if you have ever had cancer or any condition causing weakened immunity or if you are on (or have been in the previous 12 months) any prescribed treatment which could have suppressed your immunity.

 

 

We are changing the way patients order their prescriptions, and as such, could you contact the practice for this service.

Saturday Morning Service

As part of the Government led extended hours initiative we provide a nursing service as well as GP appointments on a Saturday morning. Please be advised that the following are NOT available on a Saturday morning:

  • Telephone access to the Practice
  • Results
  • Blood tests

Appointments for a Saturday will be pre-booked and, as there will be no telephone access, cancellations will need to be done in advance, or by a note posted through the door. 

As before, in a life-threatening emergency dial 999 for an ambulance.  For other problems that cannot wait until the surgery reopens please contact NHS24, or go to your local pharmacist for some advice.

The Appointments Office is open Monday to Friday from 8.30 am - 6.00 pm when we will be very pleased to help you.
